#MyFootballFantasy: A Shopping Spree and Spa Day with the Steelers' Troy Polamalu

By Megan Collins | Nov 15 2013

Earlier this week, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu cut his hair for the first time in 12 years.

1-2. Wow.

The long-locked player got a trim at Heinz Field on Veteran’s Day to benefit the Veterans of Foreign Wars (he and his wife founded the Harry Panos Fund for Veterans, which provides support for military charities). Which is all awesome, obviously.

It got me thinking…maybe I could help Troy continue on his style and grooming journey by taking him on a mega shopping spree/spa day.

And I could do it, too, with the help of Visa. An official sponsor of the NFL for over 17 years, Visa is celebrating the 2013–2014 football season by turning fans’ football fantasies into realities.

Like mine…to dress, polish and buff the Steel City’s 207-pound strong safety.

Sure, others may want to boogie in the end zone with Julio Jones, or to have Drew Brees teach their kid how to throw a perfect spiral. But there’s nothing wrong with a football fantasy that takes place off the field…right?

First on #MyFootballFantasy itinerary? Troy and I would stop by a tailor to get him all measured up and then hit up some MTM shirt and suiting options for him…I can’t imagine a neck that size fits into OTR sizes.

Next, we’d get the two-time Super Bowl champ into some weekend wear for the rare bye week, and of course, find some formalwear for him to wear at the Espys…not to mention all the style awards Troy’s sure to win once I get through with him!

After a light, healthy lunch, we’d head to the spa for some pampering. Even with his recent haircut, Troy could use a deep conditioning treatment (really, really deep), and I’m sure we could both use a pedicure. After that? Maybe a friendly couple’s massage to round out the day.

Sounds like a pretty great day to me.
